What a WILD year it has been. The sheer scale of shedding and dissolving and rattling the foundations of everything that was to the ground and then deeper still, also forged the most liberating, freeing, transforming time. That’s what lifequakes will do, whether we invite them or not, if we let them do the work of dissolution they came for.

Since every who and what I thought I was building and becoming went tumbling through the air in what I’m affectionately calling my “snowglobe moment” over the last year, I’ve gotten to take my own decades of inquiry and artistry and frameworks and friendships and turn them into a star map. Again and again the process of shedding and letting go has reminded me to lean into TRUST, and re-member myself from the inside out. It’s one of the reasons why I’m bringing so much curiosity to the stories we elevate and celebrate and those we choose to keep hidden or glamourized.

This year has broken me with blessings again and again.

Things I never would have asked for carving out the hollows from which something actually, generatively new can be born. I’m weaving a network of connections, following glimmers of guidance, and going boldly into the beyond, together.

When I founded A Bolder Vision more than 20 years ago, it was as much a pledge as a platform. Sometimes it is only in looking backwards that we can fully appreciate the moment that set all the others in motion… Onward.

Awakening the Wild Within

We begin to rouse the Wild within when,

Trusting before we could possibly know, we leap

Mustering the courage

To tell ourselves the truth, first, at last.

Believing the beckoning call, before any evidence

Presents itself as a rattling that feels like both loss and liberation.

Every precipice has a precedent, when momentum moves us; foreword.

Holding on puts at risk

Respect that begins when we re-member the stranger in the mirror.

Seeing the life-lines reflected back as the costumes of competence

We wore, proudly, at our own expense and becoming

Weavers of the garments of our own destiny, finally.

Taking responsibility for

Understanding that the design of the Self that carried

Our hopes and dreams was but a vessel for their discovery.

Meant to be shattered by the sheer wonder of any moment that

Takes our breath away and brings us to our knees at once.

We shine our light by

Showing up for the peak performance and finding

Everything we ever wanted and could ever need,

Already perfectly packaged in the container of our curiosity,

Inviting, allowing, beseeching us to a whole new kind of play.

There, illusion is replaced with

Taking responsibility for awakening the seed of our own salvation.

Claiming it. Tending it. Trusting it.

The sea and stars remember and can remind us:

We don’t need to earn what was always already ours.

Accepting, in the end

Ease and Grace as the true hallmarks of progress.

No more mustering needed.

The Wild within has got us now.
