sitting inside the pause

The little break I took from writing over the summer to sit in the pause that I talk about in the KOAN method: Breakthrough Leadership for a Divided World stretched on and on as the universe has reminded me again and again that I’m just along for this wild ride.

This week, I’ve felt a form of whiplash as the US election has upended the world order in ways we can’t yet fully fathom.

As has so often happened over these last weeks and months, I have been able to suddenly see looking backwards the patterns that seemed so random on the way here.

I wrote this poem on January 6, 2021.

I didn’t know then what significance that date would assume.

The Universe at the Wheel

When you finally allow

The Universe to take the wheel

Everything lightens,

Suddenly.

It feels like homecoming, really,

As you remember, again,

That you never

Knew where you were going.

Were always being guided,

Only you had forgotten to listen;
